People will be flying to The Coupe Cocktail Bar in Stapleton

I was proud to be the leasing agent for the one hundred thirty year old building at 379 Van Duzer Street that is now home to a truly top shelf cocktail bar called The Coupe. People from near and far are already flocking The Coupe for a unique social experience.

The Coupe is sure to delight all five of the human senses. The exterior utilizes the floor to ceiling windows as a canvas to display the business’ name and purpose in clean, gold lettering. The interior design is welcoming and just what you would expect from a cocktail lounge. The hardwood floors and tin ceilings which were installed when the building was originally constructed in the 1880s, have been refurbished to serve as compliments to the quartz bar top which glistens in the mood lighting.

The acoustics are perfect for chatting with friends. Absent is the din of loud music that causes patrons to have to shout in order to enjoy a conversation.

Perhaps most important is the way in which The Coupe’s cocktail and food menu feeds their guests’ sense of taste and smell.

A wide variety of whiskey and a knowledgeable head bartender (Edward Mango) are a perfect combination to ensure expertly mixed cocktails. Forgoing the uniformed cubes spewed from a modern day ice machine, bartenders at The Coupe chip ice from a solid block as the foundation for cocktails such as: Manhattans, Old Fashions, Whiskey Sours, Mint Julips and others that have been resurrected from bygone eras.

Plans are in place to expand the menu, but for now a charcuterie platter made up of dried figs, crostini, truffles and a variety of cheeses is the perfect complement for any cocktail.

Well known real estate developer, George Christo and his partner, Sabrina Hamilton designed the bar. Both have been active in helping the north shore of Staten Island regain its position as a desirable area in which to live, work and play.

The Coupe Cocktail Bar is open daily from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m.  For more information visit TheCoupeNYC.com.
